Safety Film Protects Driver during Tornado

Recently, a driver caught in a tornado learned the valuable lesson of having safety window film for his car. Earlier this year, winds of over 130 miles per hour knocked over Riley Leon's pick up truck, blowing out the windows and subjecting him to the mercy of the storm. Leon received minor injuries, just a few scratches, due to the front and rear windshields being protected with safety window film. This prevented him from being ejected during the crash and possibly saved him from serious injury.

Stories like this are a reminder that car safety extends beyond the mechanical and structural characteristics of a car. Having proper safety window film is also essential for protection on the road. At Tinter's Depot we provide a wide variety of safety and security film. Our 4 millimeter safety film and 12 millimeter security film are two products will keep you and your family safe from broken glass.

Automotive safety glass will continue to be an important issue. It is estimated the automotive glass market will double from 15.5 billion in 2018 to 31.1 billion in 2028. Glass that is designed to hold together after strong winds, small debris, and other forces will continue to be an important subject in the automotive glass industry.

As Leon learned, glass safety is an important factor all should consider when driving. Whether it be tornadoes, hurricanes, or strong winds, the safety of the driver is directly impacted by the type of film fitted to the windows.
